JOIN US FOR BEYOND LIMITS 10 | JOMOLHARI – SOI YAKSA TREK: AN INSPIRING JOURNEY THROUGH BHUTAN FOR OSTOMY ASSOCIATION OF SINGAPORE (27th NOV – 6th DEC 2025)!

Join us for Beyond Limits 10, happening from 27th November to 6th December 2025!

This is Beyond Expeditions' 10th charity expedition, and also our second time hosting Beyond Limits in Bhutan! This year, we’re excited to rally support for the Ostomy Association of Singapore!

We’re seeking bold souls— big-hearted explorers and ostomates —who believe in pushing limits and making a difference. With only 20 spots available, this isn’t just a trek; it’s a movement. Will you be part of it? Read on to find out more!

Living with an ostomy involves navigating a host of physical challenges—changes in body function, managing a stoma, and dealing with discomfort and anxiety. But beyond the physical, ostomy patients face profound mental and emotional hurdles

This 10th edition of Beyond Limits charity expeditions is not just about a six-day trek through the stunning landscapes of Bhutan; it’s about understanding and empathizing with those who have faced life-altering circumstances due to ostomies, and then making a positive difference in their lives by raising funds and awareness for the Ostomy Association of Singapore.

We're excited to announce that a very significant person will be joining us on this 10th edition trek in Bhutan! Ellil is a ‘legend’ in Beyond Limits; he has joined us as a participant for the first three editions of Beyond Limits, and has consistently inspired countless individuals with his unwavering dedication and passion for making a difference. Joining us for BL10, Ellil will be bringing his invaluable experience and infectious enthusiasm to the team. Together, we’ll embark on a transformative journey, raising funds and awareness for the Ostomy Association of Singapore while celebrating Ellil's legacy!

The Reality of Living with an Ostomy

For many, life with an ostomy begins with a difficult diagnosis, often cancer-related, but not exclusively. Procedures like surgery for rectal cancer lead to the creation of a stoma—a small opening in the abdomen that allows waste to exit the body. This change can be daunting, requiring the use of ostomy bags to collect waste, and it profoundly impacts daily life.

Meet Ellil, founder of the Ostomy Association of Singapore.

In an interview with Ellil, he emphasized the multifaceted challenges faced by ostomates. Not only must they manage their physical condition, but they also grapple with emotional aspects like isolation and fear of social stigma. The costs of ostomy supplies can be overwhelming, often not covered by insurance or government assistance. For those struggling financially, this can lead to a decreased quality of life and further isolation.

The Ostomy Association of Singapore is here to provide essential support to ostomates. They offer psychosocial support, educational resources, and assistance with obtaining necessary supplies. Their efforts extend to advocating for improved public amenities to ensure that ostomates can live more comfortably and confidently in society.

Importantly, they also provide financial aid for ostomy supplies, ensuring that those in need can maintain their dignity and health. Through partnerships with social workers, they verify needs and provide the required products directly, ensuring that no one is left without the essentials.

Making a Difference Through A Bhutan Adventure

As participants in our charity trek, you’ll not only challenge yourself physically and mentally but also raise crucial funds for the Ostomy Association’s initiatives. Your contributions will directly support their efforts to improve the lives of ostomates—helping to provide supplies, educational workshops, and essential advocacy.

This journey is an opportunity to connect with the stories of those we aim to support. By understanding the struggles and resilience of ostomates, we can foster a deeper empathy that enriches our own experience. Imagine carrying their challenges with you, feeling the ups and downs of their journeys as you navigate the breathtaking trails of Bhutan.

If you’re seeking a meaningful travel experience that blends adventure with purpose, we invite you to join us. Together, let’s make a significant impact on the lives of ostomy patients, raising awareness and funds for essential services that enhance their quality of life. We will take this journey together—discovering not only the beauty of the world around us but also the strength within the minds and hearts of ostomates, ourselves, and the power of community.

Join us, and discover your own capacity for resilience while supporting those who truly embody the spirit of perseverance.

More about the Jomolhari – Soi Yaksa Trek

The most challenging part of this six-day trekking route would be its steep climbs, rugged terrains, deep descents, and some rough scrambling. You’ll reach altitudes up to 4,890m within the five days of trekking, where you’ll cover a total distance of about 90km. You will also experience sleeping at high altitudes up to 4180m! Despite these challenges, the trek is generally moderate. Be ready for quickly changing weather conditions on exposed ridges. Rest assured, the expedition leaders will consult with the Bhutan team to prioritize everyone's safety if necessary.

General itinerary

“Beyond Limits is the essence of living out who we believe we are.

Ask yourself, what limits do you have? And when did you decide to accept these limitations you created for yourself?

How can we break through the concrete boundaries we’ve boxed ourselves in? Simple: an extremely compelling vision.

Once you have that, it’s all crystal clear. No what ifs, no excuses, no blaming others. Because that’s when you rise to a different level of intensity and focus. Where all your shoulds (regrets), have now become your musts. When challenges come your way, you will find a way, if not, you are going to make a way. That’s when the real you shows up. And you will never be able to hide that extreme level of spontaneity and excitement that you burn so passionately with, every moment of your life.

All breakthroughs start with a change in your beliefs.

So... what beliefs do you represent?”

— SCOTT TAY, BE FOUNDER

Take a moment to explore the remarkable experiences shared by previous Beyond Limits participants in their journeys. These stories provide a vivid glimpse into the transformative experiences awaiting you when you choose to push your limits alongside us.

We had Zoe, a cancer survivor, join us for Beyond Limits 4, a 50km trek across an icy lake at temperatures plunging below -20 degrees celsius to raise funds for the Singapore Cancer Society. We had Jiaying, who flew to frosty Taiga with us for BL6, looking to support our cause for young cancer patients, but left with a heart full of inspiration, appreciation, and a deeper, loving connection with her mother who she was also caring for, before her succumbing to cancer.

We had Irisha, an inspirational breast cancer survivor who showed us what true strength and tenacity looks like in BL7. And here’s also a visual ‘journal’ of what our participants went through for BL7, because pictures can speak to you about a journey in ways that words cannot.
